Beginner-level Tecno POP 6-series now official in Nigeria

Every smartphone OEMs have their basic level smartphones, and flagship offers. As far as Tecno Mobile is concern, the Phantom-series are on one end as the company’s flagship smartphones, while the the POP-series are offered to beginners.

The latest of these basic series, the POP 6-series have just been announced, and there are already on sales in Nigeria. So far, there are three smartphones in this series. There is the standard POP 6, the POP 6 Go, and the POP 6 GO 4G model.

Tecno’s new POP 6

Unlike last year’s Tecno’s standard POP 5, the POP 6 of these year is 4G enabled. It comes in a 6.1-inches screen with a dewdrop notch on the head and a 720 x 1560 TFT screen.

It is powered by MediaTek’s MT6739WA quad-core processor, clocked at 1.3GHz. The CPU has PowerVR GE8300 GPU, and backed by 2GB RAM and a 32-Gigs of internal storage.

Tecno POP 6 Go and POP 6 GO 4G

In addition to the standard POP 6, there is also the POP 6 Go, a 3G-only option, and POP 6 Go 4G model. The difference between these two is already super obvious (3G only against 4G network).

This is because the 4G model is using the same MT6739WA CPU on the standard POP 6 model, while the 3G only option is powered by UNISOC SC7731E CPU.

Also, the 3G only option is got only 1GB RAM + 16GB ROM, while the 4G model has 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The display on these two are capped at 6.0-inches, with 480 x 960 res, while a 4000mAh battery is kept on the inside.

You are getting a rear fingerprint scanner on all three device. There is also dual SIM option, while Google Android 11 (Go Edition) is used on all three. The POP 6 Go 4G is already on sales via both online and offline streams, and the asking price is N44,500. Pricing for the other two models are yet to be known.
