Blackview A96 Debuts with Helio G99 CPU, 6.5-inch Screen and 120Hz Refresh

Blackview, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has announced the A96, the successor to the A95. The A96 comes with a number of upgrades over its predecessor, including a more powerful processor, a larger display, and a faster charging speed.

The A96 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 processor, which is an octa-core chip with a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz. This is a significant upgrade over the MediaTek Helio P70 processor that powers the A95. The A96 also has a faster 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, compared to the 6.53-inch HD+ 60Hz display of the A95.

In terms of cameras, the A96 has a triple-lens rear camera system consisting of a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front-facing camera has a 16-megapixel sensor.

The A96 is backed by a 4380mAh battery, which is the same capacity used on the older A95. The A96 also supports 18W fast charging, similar to the charging capacity of the A95.

Here are some of the key features of the Blackview A96:

  • MediaTek Helio G99 processor
  • 6.5-inch 120Hz display
  • 48-megapixel triple-lens rear camera system
  • 16-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 4380mAh battery with 18W fast charging
  • Android 13 with Doke OS 3.1

The A96 runs Android 13 with Doke OS 3.1 on top. It is available in two colors, Provence Purple and Obsidian Black. The A96 is currently available for purchase on AliExpress for a starting price of $303. The pricing is expected to go as low as $159 during its promoted premiere sales, which is expected to commence from September 18.

The Blackview A96 is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the A95, and it offers a number of features that are not typically found in budget smartphones. The Helio G99 processor provides a significant performance boost, while the 120Hz display makes for a smoother and more fluid user experience. The triple-lens rear camera system also takes great photos and videos.

If you are looking for a budget smartphone with powerful performance, a large display, and a great camera system, then the Blackview A96 is a great option to consider.
