Entry level Infinix Smart 5 with quad-core Mediatek CPU have just been announced. It has almost same specification with the Smart 4 announced back in November of 2019, but the new comer comes with a larger 5000mAh battery and boot Google Android 10 out of the box.
There are both a separate 3G and 4G LTE versions of the Smart 5. The 3G model, sold in Africa countries comes with a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz. This unit has 2GB RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.
The 4G LTE version, aimed at some Asian pacific countries like Indonesian, Pakistan etc, comes with a quad-core Mediatek Helio A20 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz. This has 2/3GB RAM and 32/64GB of built-in storage.
As for the camera department, there is a dual 8 MP + 0.3 MP at the back of the 3G variant, while the 4G version has 13 MP + 0.3 MP + 0.3 MP triple camera. There is a single 8-megapixel selfie snapper on both side.
The Infinix smart-series have threaded on the path of basic Android phone since inception. Looking at the specs of this new Smart 5, it seems the smart-series will still remain basic for a longer time, which is a good thing as the company would always have something to offer to folks on budget, while power hungry fans can always look out for other models from the company, like the Hot, Note, or even the Zero-series, like the upcoming Infinix Zero 8-series.

As for the Smart 5, the device comes in a 6.6-inches screen with 720 x 1600 pixels and a dewdrop notch overhead. The phone has a large 5000mAh battery and run on the aforementioned Android 10 out of the box. The 3G model with 2GB and 32GB of internal storage is currently priced under N40,000 in Nigeria.
