Xiaomi is set to launch two new smartphones from its popular Redmi Note 12 series in the coming days. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which was confirmed last week to be the first phone to feature the top-end Snapdragon 7 series chip, will launch on March 28th in China.
The phone is said to focus on performance, offering an improved experience for mid-range products. According to Redmi’s General Manager Lu Weibing, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip is expected to perform extremely well in terms of energy efficiency and balance between power consumption and performance.
On the other hand, the launch of the Redmi Note 12 4G model in India has been pushed to March 30th. This sleek SuperNote promises a 120Hz Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 685 4G Mobile Platform, a 50MP rear camera, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
The phone is expected to have up to 11GB of RAM, including virtual RAM, but we can expect the 6GB of RAM version as well. The phone will come in blue, gray, and green colors, and will run Android 13 out of the box with MIUI 14.
Although both the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and the vanilla Note 12 series share similar rear designs, the Turbo version has a triple rear camera setup with no camera bar, and the rear design is different.
The vanilla Note 12 series will come with a punch-hole front camera and retain the 3.5mm audio jack and IR blaster. The complete specifications of the vanilla Note 12 series will be unveiled tomorrow, March 23rd, during Xiaomi’s global event.
