There will be no iQOO 11 and iQOO 7 on the December 2nd

Following the death of Jiang Zemin, the launch of Vivo’s iQOO 11 and the midrange iQOO 7 SE will not hold on the 2nd of December. This is coming barely 48 hours to the initially scheduled official launch event.

Vivo had previously ticked December 2nd for the official announcement of it iQOO 7 SE and the iQOO 11 series. Sadly, news broke earlier today in China, of the sudden demise of Jiang Zemin, a former Chinese president between 1993 to 2003.

Jiang Zemin who died at 96 (17 August 1926 – 30 November 2022), was also the chairman of the Central Military Commission from 1989 to 2004. Consequently, his death has lead to the suspension of major exciting events from China, including the launch of Xiaomi’s December 1st launch event.

Even though it is very obvious, like Xiaomi, iQOO did state reasons for the cancellation. Speaking on Weibo, the company said:

iqoo 11 series and iqoo Neo 7 SE postponed

We regret to inform you that the new product launches of the iQOO 11 series and iQOO Neo7 SE will be postponed. We will notify you as soon as the new release date is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and support.
