Google Android 13 OS is now running on Tecno Camon 19 Pro 5G as was promised. The new Operating System is already available to owners in Nigeria, Kenya and few other African countries. Additionally, Tecno has confirmed, that Indian owners of the Camon 19 Pro 5G will also get the OS very soon.
Interestingly, this makes the Camon 19 Pro 5G to be among the few devices currently running Google’s latest OS. In fact, most phones currently on Android 13 are flagship devices. But the Camon 19 Pro 5G is Tecno’s flagship device right?
The update itself, for the Nigerian users is codenamed CI7n-H332ABC-T-GL-220809V738 and weighs almost 4GB. It is based on Google Android 13 with Tecno’s latest HiOS 12.5 out of the box. Some of it key changelogs includes;
- Optimized for Android 13.
- Added the function “Clipboard Pop-up”.
- Added the function “Photo Selector”.
- Added the function “Display Sizes and Fonts’.
- Added the function “Vibration Intensity Adjuster’.
- Optimized system stability and performance
while fixing other issues, etc.
If you are yet to try the new OS, it is important to note that everything about the update may not be rosy just yet. So expect certain bugs here and there. The company also warned that the update may crash your phone if it is already rooted.
Also note that this update is meant for the Camon 19 Pro 5G model with MediaTek Dimensity 810 CPU. This is very important!. There are four smartphones in the Camon 19-series; the vanilla Camon 19, 19 Neo, 19 Pro and 19 Pro 5G. Only the later is updated to Android 13.
The Camon 19 Pro 5G came in a 6.8-inches screen. The phone runs the aforementioned 5G Dimensity CPU from MediaTek. It has a 64-megapixel triple camera setup on the rear, powered by a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charger and boot Google Android 12 with HiOS 8.6 OS out of the box.
