iTel is Got An Android 9.0 Pie Smartphone in the Works [UPDATED]

Hello guys, Okay, before you get too excited with the above headlines, and jump into reading the rest of the article, please note that iTel Alpha was unveiled in Bangladesh yesterday, and sadly, it not an Android 9.0 powered smartphone. The device is a regular iTel smartphone like the iTel S 13.

Specifications wise, the iTel Alpha features a 5.5 full-view display, with 480 x 960 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a Quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz, along with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The device is powered by a 2400 mAh battery, run Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box and priced at BDT. 5,550, which translate to around USD. 70. So for those having hopes for an Android 9.0 iTel smartphone, you might wanna keep an eye on the upcoming iTel P33 and the P33 Plus.

In the past, we had written about Tecno phones getting Android 9.0 (Pie). We also had another post about Infinix smartphones getting Android 9.0, and many other OEMs. However, we’ve not heard of any leaks or rumors, talking about iTel phones getting upgraded to Android 9.0. Except the interesting news that iTel is Got an Android 9.0 (Pie) smartphone in the works, and is set to launch as soon as possible.

The device which goes by the name iTel Alpha was first teased on the company’s Bangladesh official page. As mentioned above, one of the major selling point of this device will be the presence of Android 9.0 Pie.

iTel Alpha phone specification and price

Droidafrica is yet to gather the complete details and specifications of this phone. But from the little we’ve got, the iTel Alpha will be powered by one of the recent Mediatek Quad-core processor, backed with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

The device will have a dual rear-mounted cameras of 13 + 2 MP sensors, and a selfie camera of 8-megapixel. We don’t know much about the Artificial Intelligence (AI) features of this device since the actual processor is still a mystery. But you will undeniably get key features of Android Pie.

Lastly, the iTel Alpha is also said to be powered by a 3500mAh battery out of the box, along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. So if you are a fan of iTel, then keep an eye on this device.
