Redmi 8A starts receiving MIUI 11 update in India


Yesterday, Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 11 update to the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, now today, they are rolling out the MIUI 11 to Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A as well. It brought enhanced features as well as security patch. The Redmi 8A update carries this number MIUI and for you to download it, you must have 544mb and above, it actually has 544mb size. The update comes with October security patch for the Redmi 8A.


If you have wondered what you will benefit from MIUI 11, well it comes a new minimalistic design, new dynamic sound effects inspired by the sounds of nature including animal, water and fire noises, updated Mi File Manager app, Steps Tracker, Wallpaper Carousel, and even a Floating Calculator.

There’s also a new Mi Share file transfer tool and Mi Doc Viewer. It also brings continuous swipe for an additional menu in Game Turbo and a home screen shortcut inside the mode.


The smartphone comes in two variants – 2GB+32GB and 3GB+32GB priced at Rs 6,499 and Rs 6,999 respectively. Available colours includes Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Sunset Red. The phone was previously available through limited-period flash sale rounds. Now interested customers who want to buy the smartphone, will not have to wait for flash sales as it can now be purchased 24×7.

On the front, it has a 6.22-inch waterdrop notch display, it’s an HD+ display which means it has a resolution of 720 by 1520 pixels, the device has a PPI of 271 and 19:9 aspect ratio. It’s an IPS LCD panel screen with 81.3% screen to body ratio, the display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

In terms of camera, this device spot a single rear camera which is the 12mp camera with f/1.8 aperture accompanied by a led flash, on the front, it has 8mp selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, both the front and back camera records video in 1080p at 30fps.

Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 439 Chip which has an Octa core processor clocked at 1.95GHz, it runs on Android 9 pie with MIUI 10 out of the box and Adreno 505 for graphics or gaming. The processor is also paired with a 2gb/3gb RAM and 32gb internal storage.

What is keeping the light on is a 5000mAh Li-Po battery which supports fast charging upto 18W.
