Tecno will be officially introducing the Camon 17-series in Nigeria in 2-days time. Coming in as the direct successor to the Camon 16-series of last year, the 17-series are expected to come with upgraded camera specs, and with features better than it predecessors.
Actually, we are not entirely in the dark about this upcoming smartphones. Varying iterations in the series has already been revealed across multiple countries, starting from Kenya, Ivory Coast and even via Tecno’s own official site.
So far, a total of three devices have been revealed belonging to the 17-series. These includes the vanilla Camon 17, the Camon 17P and Camon 17 Pro, which is the better ‘speced‘ among the three. For example, while the standard model and the P-model are powered by Helio G85 CPU from MediaTek, only the Pro version is running Helio G95 CPU, and it has better Camera and display quality as well.
Additionally, we were told of the existence of a Premier model, which is rumored to offer better camera specs than even the Pro model. But we have no idea if it will retain same 64-megapixel on the Pro version, or probably might be Tecno’s first smartphone to offer 108-megapixel lens, or even sport the rumored 50-megapixel sensor expected on the upcoming Phantom X Pro model.
For Tecno fans in Nigeria, the Camon 17-series will be arriving officially by 8:30pm on the 6th of May, which is just 2-days from today. As for pricing, nothing is known officially yet. Although some impatient folks who are able to lay hands on early stock of the base model are already listing them online, with a price tag starting from N74,000, and touching a staggering N95,000 in Nigeria. We’ll find out more in two days time.
