Tecno has just announced the vanilla POP 7 smartphone in Bangladesh, and the specifications show that the device is offered a 6.6-inches screen as well, the same screen used on the POP 7 Pro model.
It is not clear which CPU is powering this newcomer, but Tecno said it is an octa-core CPU. All of Tecno’s POP series is targeted at the entry-level smartphone market.
The 7 Pro came with a quad-core Helio A22 CPU, and if the vanilla POP 7 is given an 8-core CPU, then it may not be anything other than the UNISOC SC9863A1 chipset that is clocked at 1.6GHz.
Turning to the back, the Tecno POP 7 is got two camera lenses like its sibling. These include an 8-megapixel main shooter, along with an Ai depth sensor, while a single 5-megapixel selfie sensor is used on the front.
The device comes in a multi-texted body, just like its Pro sibling, and it is given a rear fingerprint scanner as well. Under the hood is a 5000mAh battery that is charged over a 10W USB Type-C.
The phone is available in Endless Black, Capri Blue, and Nebula Purple colors, and is preloaded with Google Android 12 (Go Edition) out of the box. It has dual 4G SIMs, WiFi as well as Bluetooth 4.2.
As for pricing and availability, The POP 7 has just been launched in Bangladesh, and it is priced at 9,690 Bangladeshi Taka for the 2GB RAM with 64GB ROM. This translates to around $92. The model should be available in Africa on or before next month.
